Butterfield Home Renovations is a family owned business that has operated in Christchurch for over 40 years. The company is now being run by the second generation.
Our company director, Neil Butterfield, is a Licensed Building Practitioner who has worked in the Christchurch and Canterbury building and renovations industries for 38 years. Neil is responsible for identifying, supervising and signing off any restricted building work required in the repair projects, either as part of the repair or as part of additional work required by customers, such as renovation and extensions.
Neil brought his two sons, Mark and Guy, into the business to handle the co-ordination and project management.
Mark Butterfield holds an Engineering Honours Degree from the Canterbury University School of Engineering. Mark’s career has centred on the negotiation and project management of engineering construction projects in the mining and public sectors in New Zealand and Australia. Mark’s role in Butterfield Home Renovations is to meet and talk through the opt out process with new customers, negotiate with EQC during the scoping inspections, quotation submission and variation requests, co-ordinate engineering consultants, geo-tech, surveyors and architects involved in devising the repair strategy for more complicated projects and handle building consent and code of compliance applications. Mark is more than happy to talk at length about your particular situation and answer any questions or concerns who have at any stage of the project.
Guy Butterfield holds an Engineering Honours Degree and Masters of Engineering Management from the Canterbury School of Engineering. Guy’s career has focused on the design and project management of larger-scale engineering construction projects in the Chemical and Fuel industries throughout the New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. At Butterfield Home Renovations, Guy’s role is project managing the repair projects from start to sign off. Guy co-ordinates all sub-trades, from civil and structural work right through to signing off on the paint finish at the end of the job.
