Flower Street

Project Overview

We were bought in to completely renovate bathroom and revise a new layout to fit a stand-alone bath, vanity, tiled level entry shower, back-to-wall toilet suit

The bathroom doorway was converted to an internal cavity slider system and the original door (an original Rimu door) was reused as the sliding door. A tiled floor with under-floor heating was installed, and a tiled shower installed the full width of the bathroom, with small alcoves fitted between the existing studs.  Very well priced black fittings were used, but these could be used only because the owner was upgrading to mains pressure hot water, as they were unsuitable for low hot water pressure.  Black accents were incorporated by using matt black tile trim and a black support for the custom glass screen.  The window frame and architraves were replaced with treated pine items and a water deflector installed.

A wall-hung vanity was used to maximise the apparent floor space.  The vanity was constructed from a standard carcass fitted with a custom timber top.  The owner selected the colour palette and tiles, and made good use of wood to add texture to the space.

There was a significant amount of water-damaged wall and floor framing, which was replaced.  The plumbing pipework was galvanized pipe, which had corroded internally and was severely restricting water flow. The pipework was replaced.
